North End Engagement photography with Caren & Philip

We are so excited to be a part of this adorable couple's day this August!  But first I spent a little time in the North End of Boston, "our neighborhood" and had some fun making a few pictures for their engagement photography.

I asked them for a few word about their story...

How did you two meet?

Philip and I knew each other since 8th grade. 14 years later we were set up and went on our first date.

Tell us the proposal story~

A. I thought Philip was going to propose on Christmas Day 2013. When the day and night came and went without the proposal I was let down. The next day we got ready for work. He went out the door first and I followed, locked the door and turned around to see him already down on one knee holding the ring. He asked me if I would marry him and of course I said yes! I should have known better that he would not ask me on the 25th day because the 26th was always our number. We went on our first date on February 26th and made our relationship status official on March 26th. Now we are getting married on August 26th.

What details are you most excited about for your wedding?

We are excited to share the day with our family and friends. We cannot wait to see how everything will come together and especially, taking pictures at the reception venue which has been around since the 1920s.

What look were you going for in your engagement session?

Philip and I love our date nights. We wanted what would be a typical date night for us in the city but we also wanted to show off our culture by wearing each other's traditional clothing.

Do you have any tips or advice for couples getting ready for their session?

Relax, you are in great hands.

How was your overall session experience?

We enjoyed the session a lot. This being our first professional photo session ever, we were a bit nervous but Christian had great direction. When he would put us in a pose we quite did not understand but he then showed us the preview screen on the camera, we were amazed at the outcome. Not because we doubted Christian's direction but were blown away by his creativity.

Can't wait for them to see the rest!
